Debra Suzette Brown is married to Charles Brown. Together, Suzette and Charles have fostered over thirty children and adopted nine. Suzette has over twenty years’ experience parenting children in state custody as well as working in partnership with Child Welfare. She worked with private foster and adoption agencies while parenting her children. All of their children are now young adults and are living on their own, doing well. Presently, they have legal custody of their granddaughter since birth. While parenting nine kids, Suzette graduated from Shorter College with an Associate Degree in Business Management and then continued on to Argosy University Atlanta to pursue a BA in Psychology. She has been at Families First-Georgia Center for Resources and support for nearly 5 years and recently, she became certified as a CPS-P (Certified Peer Specialist Parent).
Suzette shared that while she and her husband were loving parents, it took commitment to make it through challenging times. She likes to share her experiences with others and also support families when they are in crisis. She wants to help parents understand that they need to be committed to their children no matter what.
