Debra Ross, Project Coordinator, has been in the field of Social Work for more than 20 years. She graduated from Fordham University with a Masters Degree in Social Work. This launched her career in crisis intervention for victims of abuse. She worked in both State and Local government to prevent and protect children from abuse. This fostered her passion to pursue a position as a project manager for non-profit organization to prevent substance abuse and teen pregnancy for youth ages 12 - 17. During her years of service there she developed and executed several curriculums such as: strategies for effective parenting skills, stress management and time management and building children's self-esteem. These trainings targeted both parents and staff. Debra's work continued in the private sector when she helped form and develop a for-profit organization called Magallo Information Group. Magallo's mission was to provide technical support to individuals and organizations in best practices for early childhood support and education. She developed a National training curriculum which was used by 27 consultants throughout the five boroughs in New York. Her creative approach and innovative strategies brought her both state and local recognition as a spokes person for creative curriculum use for parents, teachers and child care providers. Debra Ross decided to relocate to Georgia approximately 9 years ago and return to county government working with prospective foster parents. She has supported, trained and developed numerous workshops to help support the continuing training needs for foster parents as well as addressing other concerns of foster and adoptive parents. Her skills in both direct customer support and management have brought her to the Georgia Center for Resources and Support for Adoptive and Foster Parents. Debra is excited about the energy and the opportunity to work with the GACRS. email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
